What is it that people say about burning bridges? Childish? Waste of time? Ungrateful? Clay Aiken burned a big bridge last night with his snarky live tweeting of American Idol, the very show that catapulted the former North Carolina congressional candidate to fame. This, of course, before he embarked on his political dreams.
Aiken was the runner-up in season two of the popular televised singing competition, losing the crown to Ruben Studdard. The show is now in its final season.
The first tweet that Aiken sent out simply said this:

This was the last nice thing Aiken had to say about the show, however.
Quickly, the singer started dishing out the dirt with tweets explaining “why the ratings are down” and making fun of the “boring ass responses” from the judges. One tweet even tagged former judge Simon Cowell, though Aiken was much nicer in this case:

The current judges, by the way, are Harry Connick, Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban, all international stars.
The one bright spot in Aiken’s night, it seems, came when the television show featured auditions from his hometown of Raleigh, NC, but he then got bored again.

Aiken eventually acknowledged his ranting, and explained that the reason he was so disappointed in the first American Idol episode of the final season is that he loves the singing competition. He wrote,

So what do you think? Are Clay Aiken’s comments founded or is this just an attempt to get into the spotlight again?
