Peppermint Heaven Unveil The Video For New Track “Decide 4 Yourself”

As the duo prepare for the release of their debut album at the end of the month, Peppermint Heaven share the video for latest track “Decide 4 Yourself”

2015 proved to be a big year for Peppermint Heaven. The pair, AKA Spark and Juno, recorded their debut album, Precious Things, grew their fan-base and earned themselves significant support from an array of music outlets.

Now, to kick of 2016, the duo have unveiled the video for the second track from the collection, “Decide 4 Yourself”, which continues the narrative of the album which began with “The Cage That We Live In.”

Asked about the story behind the track, Spark from the band says:

“Decide 4 Yourself has a strong dark energy.  When I came to the writing session with the drum tracks I knew something special would come to us.  Juno same up with a really memorable, but simple hook for the chorus and the rest of the song came very quickly.  It felt that it wrote itself.   Sometimes we are forced to make our own decisions in life, rather than having things decided for us.  Though this song deals with a relationship, the message of self-empowerment is universal.  It’s a sparse open arrangement, but we feel it creates a really cool atmosphere.  It’s one of my favourites on the album.”

To create the  video, the band one again teamed up with director Pierce G. Wilson. Of his work on the latest video and what message and images he wanted to get across in it, he admitted:

“It was a great challenge making the Decide 4 Yourself video. The song has so much energy and life which I wanted to capture in a simple narrative. The digital firework explosions are representative of how exciting and surreal fireworks can be in our youth. I wanted the end of the video to have some drama and excitement and show how quickly a fun situation can escalate. Gradually we see less and less of the characters, and more of the fireworks, to shift our focus from their story to the energy expressed in the digital explosions.  I feel like the blending of digital and hand drawn elements is a very unique style which fits well with the song that I feel is vintage with a modern twist. “
