DC Collides: Grant Gustin To Guest Star On Supergirl

After what seems like ages of speculation from DC fans, we will see the Scarlet Speedster and the Girl from Krypton on the same screen — find out how!

Looks like the Scarlet Speedster will be making his way to National City sooner than we thought.

Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, executive producers for both The Flash and Supergirl, have officially announced a new crossover episode featuring The Flash, played by Grant Gustin, on Supergirl.

Supergirl, which features Melissa Benoist, has long hinted that some kind of crossover would happen, but it was always the matter of when and how.

Currently, The Flash also shares the same universe with two other shows, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, all of which air on the CW. The three shows have had small crossovers in the past, and all have done exceptionally well, especially The Flash and Arrow.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl. We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out,” said Berlanti and Kreisberg.

According to an Instagram posted by Gustin himself, The Flash will be making an appearance during the show’s 18th episode and will be called “Worlds Finest.”

There is currently no word on how these two characters will meet or if Benoist will be joining the The Flash cast anytime soon.

This won’t be the first time that Benoist and Grant have worked together. They were previously featured on the cover of Variety in honor of Berlanti’s success. They were also co-stars on the hit show Glee.

This crossover special opens new doors for the DC television universe. Previously, fans were skeptical that a crossover would be possible due to the shows being on different networks, with Supergirl on CBS and The Flash on The CW. Now, there is a possibility that we will be seeing more heroes in National City and Supergirl, herself, possibly visiting The Green Arrow!

Supergirl airs on CBS on Mondays at 8/7c.
