Today in Nashville, Tennessee Dolly Parton hosted a press conference with some pretty amazing news for her fans. The country hitmaker has a new album in the works and is embarking on her biggest tour in years; here is your Pop Wrapped Exclusive. Here she comes again. At 70 years old Dolly Parton is preparing for her largest North American tour in over 25 years. The event will see the country darling performing in 45 cities in the U.S. and 15 cities throughout Canada. Kirt Webster of Webster PR shares that she is looking forward to her Canadian dates, because she has not toured there in over 25 years.
Fans can look for the tour to kick off in the U.S. in early summer and look for a new Dolly CD titled Pure & Simple to follow shortly after. It will be a dual CD serviced alongside a bonus Dolly’s Biggest Hits.
“We’re so excited to get out there and see the fans again. I’m really looking forward to singing songs the fans have not heard in a while, as well as the hits, while debuting a few new ones off Pure & Simple,” Parton said.
The Country Music Hall of Famer is on one of the biggest hot streaks of her career after her hugely successful TV movie Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors, which attracted a network record of 15.8+ million viewers and was the most watched movie on network TV in more than 3 years. Following the huge success with the television format, Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors will be released to DVD on May 3 to offer fans another opportunity to experience the special.
With Dollywood celebrating its 31st year and reopening for business March 19th, it looks like Miss Dolly Parton is in for an action packed year.
