Frank Sinatra Jr. passed away today (Wednesday, 3/16/16) at the age of 72.
According to ABC News and the Sinatra family, he was on tour at the time and due to perform at the Peabody Auditorium on Wednesday evening. He was rushed to the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach in the afternoon after going into cardiac arrest.
According to his rep, Sinatra Jr. cancelled his gig at the auditorium “when he felt lightheaded,” although later told doctors he felt okay.
The family has provided no other details about the passing of their son, who died while following in his father’s musical footsteps. Frank Sinatra Sr. died in 1998, also of a heart attack.
Sinatra Jr. started working for his father well before his 19th birthday, working as a musical director and conductor.
He sang the National Anthem at a New York Yankees game in 2015.
