Having already worked with artists like Tove Lo and Icona Pop, Swedish group Favorite Child have branched out and are ready to share their own brand of funk style music with the world.
Their debut single, “Just Wanna Belong,” featuring vocals from fellow Swedish artist Eric Rapp, is a strong demonstration of what to expect from the group – they pride themselves on creating uplifting, dance-floor ready rhythms and combining them with emotive, passionate lyrics that will linger long after you’ve heard them, notably because they’ll be hard to get out of your head!
When asked how they create the songs they’re so immensely proud of, the band said:
We have an almost childish approach to putting songs together that really defines our style. As musicians, we reached the point where we no longer care about what’s expected from us. It’s part of ‘why don’t we try this, might sound cool?’ and part ‘fuck you we won’t do what you tell us’. It’s sort of like the rebel and the mad scientist in perfect harmony.
