Matt LeBlanc, Chris Evans Star In Top Gear Season 23 Trailer

The BBC has unveiled the trailer for the revamped series of its most successful television franchise, Top Gear, featuring Matt LeBlanc & Chris Evans.

The BBC has unveiled the trailer for the revamped series of its most successful television franchise, Top Gear.

The 60-second trailer, released last Thursday (March 31), features Friends star Matt LeBlanc wearing stars and stripes headgear while driving an equally gaudy vehicle decorated with the same features. LeBlanc will be the first non-British host of the beloved British show.

The trailer, as expected, features a lot of state of the art automobiles; along with the stars and stripes vehicle, LeBlanc was also seen driving a Reliant three-wheeler and a Dodge Viper ACR with a machine gun attached on its roof.

Co-host and BBC 2 Radio presenter Chris Evans (no, not Captain America) also appeared in the trailer.

The two are part of a group of new hosts who were called in to replace the iconic trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.

Clarkson was suspended last year over an alleged fracas with a producer; after that, the BBC chose not to renew his contract, prompting Hammond and May to leave the show in solidarity.

The new hosts joining LeBlanc and Evans are Formula 1 Racer Eddie Jordan, journalists Rory Reid and Chris Harries and, completing the lineup is German race car driver Sabine Schmitz.

There is a lot riding on this show, which has become BBC 2’s most popular program, as it sets out to prove that it can remain viable without Clarkson, Hammon,d and May, who are synonymous with the show.

The trio are reported to have signed a £160 million contract with Amazon Prime to host a rival motoring show.

In an interview with The Guardian, James May said that he is not in a race with the revamped Top Gear with Chris Evans.

“It’s not a war, these things can coexist. We can have Amazon and Netflix and the BBC and BT Sport and people can make choices, that’s what modern life is all about,” he said.

Top Gear is set to return at the end of May.
