With the grand opening of Los Angeles’ own Wizarding World of Harry Potter taking place today (April 7), we thought we would celebrate by compiling some statistics about our own adventures in the wizarding world.
From FanFiction.net to WattPad.com, Muggles, Wizards, and Squibs alike have been writing their own versions of the Golden Trio’s time at Hogwarts – and even some new adventures!
According to WattPad statistics, there are a TON of stories, each centered around a specific relation(ship). These numbers may surprise you. Or maybe not…
Top Harry Potter ships determined by uploads:
o Draco Malfoy x Hermione (Dramione) = 63,603
o Draco Malfoy x Harry (Drarry) = 19,813
o Harry x Ginny (Hinny) = 13,453
o Ron x Hermione (Romione) = 12,580
o James Potter x Lily (Jily) =11,640
o Sirius x Lupin (WolfStar) = 3,383
o Snape x Lily (Snily) = 1,551
Most of these ships come as no surprise, but some of the ship names could use some work! My personal favorite is WolfStar, and I’m always up for a well-written Romione story!
Some WattPad authors have even created award-winning stories like Harry Potter and the Guardian. While this title is still a work in progress, it already won the site’s 2015 Watty Award!
