‘Doctor Strange’ Teaser Trailer Debuts On Jimmy Kimmel Live

The very first teaser trailer for the upcoming Marvel film, Doctor Strange, premiered on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and it was awesome.

Jimmy Kimmel Live has been the premiere spot for several big movie trailers, especially for Marvel, and tonight they added a new one to that list. We finally got our very first look at the upcoming Marvel film, Doctor Strange, with the first official teaser trailer. Check it out here:

This film is going to be on a totally different level than any other Marvel film to date. As the trailer shows, Doctor Strange will delve into the mystical side of the MCU, covering magic, different dimensions, alternate realities, and possibly even time travel. Certain parts of this trailer even had a similar look and feel to the Christopher Nolan film, Inception, so perhaps we’ll see some dream walking.

One of the most interesting things about this trailer was the complete lack of humor. Marvel films have become infamous for injecting humor into serious moments, and I have no doubt that this film will do the same, but the fact that this trailer shows us zero comedy makes me think it’ll be taking a much more serious tone than the others, possibly delving into some deep, philosophical topics.

We get a quick glimpse of Rachel McAdams at the beginning, a couple shots of Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo, our first looks at Tilda Swinton’s bald-headed Ancient One, and Mads Mikkelsen, whose character in the film is still a mystery.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

Before he met the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange was an unlikable and egotistical neurosurgeon. Everything changes when a car accident limits Strange’s use of his hands, sending him on a maddening quest for a miracle cure. This origin story introduces the magical and mystical realms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, and Tilda Swinton. The film is scheduled to hit theaters later this year on November 4, 2016.
