Lindsay Lohan Goes Political, Tweets About Brexit

In a series of now-deleted tweets, actress Lindsay Lohan offered her commentary on Brexit and made her opinion on the issue clear.

Chiming in on international politics is not something that we usually would attribute to actress and occasional pop star Lindsay Lohan.

After all, we have seen her torpedo her once promising career with her party girl antics and DUI hearings.

To be fair, the actress has avoided controversy this past few years, especially since she chose to move to London, where she even has found love with Russian Heir, Egor Tarabasov.

A source has told People that Lindsay “sounds more humble and much more calm,” and was supposed to have even said [moving to London] was the best thing that ever happened”.

So it is not really that strange that Lohan cares a lot about the politics of her adopted home, especially on a very important issue like the recently concluded referendum vote on the United Kingdom remaining or leaving the European Union.

Of course we now know the result of that vote, and Lindsay is not happy with it.

In what is now a deleted series of tweets during the height of the vote, Lohan who is advocating for the UK to remain, made her opinion loud and clear to her more than nine million followers.

In one tweet she explained why she was supporting the remain campaign “so that the U.K., standing with the EU, HELP refugee children to have a brighter future”. In another tweet she wrote that “workplace fatalities in the U.K. have reduced by half since European safety directives were introduced in 1996”.

Now I know a lot of people find it amusing that Lindsay wrote this tweets. In her defense, this shows that she does have an intelligent side to her, and that she is more than just the messed up celebrity we read about on tabloids.

Of course, in the end she had to face up to the result, and she tweeted out; “One thing for sure the #referendum results are very close, but also showing a difference of opinion across #Britain”. She closed things out with “#Remain”, topping it off with praying hands emoji.

Makes one wonder why she chose to delete her tweets though.
