Donald Drumpf Hashtag Is Hilariously Trending

Twitter’s latest trending sensation revolves around Donald Trump’s relationship with female voters. But #TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet hilariously backfired.

The hashtag campaign #TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet rose to the top of the trending list after being started on Wednesday by the “influential shitposter” @BakedAlaska. The tag was started to highlight the positive support presidential hopeful Donald Trump was receiving from female voters.

Since it went viral, the hashtag has gone hilariously wrong.

While some users posts held fast and true to BakedAlaska’s intent, others were not so amused. One user exposed the campaign as “creepy men posting pics of women they googled.”

The tag has remained at the top of the trending list, only now by people who take extreme pleasure in turning it on its head.

It’s no wonder this “campaign” is causing such a stir, since Trump has been completely candid in all of his interactions with female newscasters, opponents, and voters in the race so far. Surprising no one, these interactions have not helped Trump gain the trust and good will of females everywhere.

According to a poll conducted by Economist/ You Gov, Hillary Clinton has “a double-digit lead over Trump among registered female voters.”

CNN quoted Donald Trump’s opinion of women: They “have one of the great acts of all time. The smart ones act very feminine and needy, but inside they are real killers. The person who came up with the expression ‘the weaker sex’ was either very naïve or had to be kidding. I have seen women manipulate men with just a twitch of their eye — or perhaps another body part.”

This statement, and several others like it, has (unfortunately) been published in Trump’s 1997 book The Art of the Comeback. Since the nominee began campaigning for his chance to sit in the Oval Office, many of his past opinions have made a “comeback.”

Trump has started a new “gender-focused line of attack” on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton since becoming the presumptive Republican nominee. He even went so far as to point out Clinton’s husband’s many marital indiscretions throughout his presidency.

Sorry, BakedAlaska, but your plan has hilariously backfired.
