Here at PopWrapped, we pride ourselves on delivering exciting and new music to you, our fantastic readers, and today, we have not one exclusive for you, but TWO!
The lovely ladies of Stabwounds, vocalist Amanda Brooklyn and vocalist/song-writer Emma March Barash , who are assisted by drummer Aaron Mendelsohn, have just released their new EP, Goody Goody and have very generously offered us the exclusive stream of the new collection which you can listen to below.
Hailing from Brooklyn, Stabwounds deliver a stunning mix of indie-folk and rock and roll and have been championed by Pucker Mob as a band whose music:
soundtracks a generation of sexually charged hopeless romantics.
With provocative lyrics and songs that explore love, loss and the many other aspects of life that we all experience on a daily basis, Amanda describes Goody Goody as being a project that:
fully encapsulates us as a band and as women.
Of the five tracks on the collection she says:
They tell the story of so many parts of the soul,. The scorned soul, the jealous soul, the bitter soul, the healing soul, the lustful soul. We leave it up to the listener to figure out which soul belongs to which song, but each song is an integral chapter.”
Reflecting on their music and the EP’s title, Emma adds:
Stabwounds has an internal morality, where we acknowledge what’s expected of women, especially in the realm of relationships. We insist on behaving outside the confines of those demands. Sneering at the notion of being a “goody goody” while looking like a ‘goody goody’ is what we’re all about.
PopWrapped are also thrilled to premiere the video for the bands’ new single “Kills” which is the second track on the collection. You can check it out below and for more information on Stabwounds, be sure to visit their website, give their page a like on Facebook or follow them on Instagram.
