Howdy, Stars Hollow! As many of you are aware, Luke’s Diner temporarily expanded in honor of #HappyBirthdayGilmore and Netflix’s revival of the classic Gilmore Girls television show! We got to visit one of these locations in San Jose, California and get some pictures!
There were two Luke’s locations in the San Jose area, but we found ourselves waiting in line for Caffe Frascati, known locally for its themed evenings and mellow atmosphere.
We waited in line for about two hours, arriving just in time to get one of the last apple strudels, a seat at the bar, and a cup of free coffee.
While this particular location did not go all out on the decorations, they did have some pretty cool stuff going on, including some swag for the baristas, motivational signs, and a Gilmore Girls quotation with every cup!
Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival will pick up exactly eight years after the original show ended with its first 90-minute episode, “Winter.” The other three episodes will be titled after the other three seasons, rounding out the short revival.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will see the return of producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino. The episodic films will follow Rory and Lorelai’s relationship, giving us a different view of how they have come to relate to one another.
“It’s not a high school girl and her mom. It’s two women, two chicks. They can have cocktails together,” said show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. The show, she said, lends itself particularly well to revival given its subject matter. “The shit in your family never gets worked out,” she said. “But that’s what’s so great about family. It’s a constant evolution of, ‘Maybe this Thanksgiving!… No.’ ‘Maybe this Christmas, we’ll fix…! Nah.’”
Getting to experience a little bit of Stars Hollow magic really brightened our morning! We hope you got to experience your own Luke’s location!
