The Force is strong with this one. Beloved actress and pop culture icon, Carrie Fisher is now in “stable condition” following a heart attack on a flight last Friday.
This is according to Fisher’s mother, Debbie Reynolds, who took to social media on Sunday to inform the worried fans and supporters of her daughter.
“Carrie is in stable condition. If there is a change, we will share it. For all her fans & friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes,” she wrote on both her Facebook and Twitter account.

60 year old Fisher has been in the hospital since her cardiac arrest, which happened on an 11 hour United Airlines flight from London to Los Angeles.
A spokesperson for the airlines said in a statement that “medical personnel met United flight 935 from London to Los Angeles upon arrival today after the crew reported that a passenger was unresponsive. Our thoughts are with our customer.”
Upon landing, Fisher was rushed to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and was placed in an intensive care unit.
On Saturday, her brother Todd Fisher said that she was in critical condition.
Fisher was in London filming the third season of British series Catastrophe and was promoting her new book, The Princess Diarist.
Carrie Fisher was born to an entertainment family. Her mother Debbie is an actress, and her father, Eddie Fisher, is a singer. She made her debut in 1975’s Shampoo but rose to fame with her iconic role as Princess Leia in 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope. It is a character she would portray in sequels The Empire Strikes Back, Return of The Jedi, and, most recently, The Force Awakens, which was released in 2015.
A younger CGI version of Carrie Fisher was also used for standalone prequel, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is still showing in cinemas around the world.
Hopefully she will make a full recovery. The world still needs Princess Leia.
