The Weeknd is a man of many talents. He’s a singer and performer, but he’s also a ladies’ man. His first public romance was with Bella Hadid, and their respective fandoms went crazy.
“I actually asked her to be on the artwork for Beauty Behind the Madness. My motive was to literally work with her. [The relationship] just kind of fell into my lap,” the Canadian artist says. After they met, the two developed feelings. As their love grew, so did their careers. The Weeknd’s previous album was a commercial success. He won awards, got money, and gained a prominent following. Hadid gained accomplishments and accolades, too. Their lives were too good to be true, and so was their romance.
According to a Romper article, timing was their homewrecker. They were too busy, and they had very little energy devoted to their relationship. “Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate, and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album. They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends,” a source confirmed.
In a shocking turn of events, the Weeknd and Hadid never ever, ever got back together. While she remains single, the “Starboy” fell for another woman: Selena Gomez.
Not everybody is happy with the situation. Both Hadid and Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, are upset. “Bella has reached out to [the Weeknd] a few times and told him Selena is using him. He thinks she’s just jealous,” a source dished to Daily Mail. In the past, Gomez had flings with her features. She was intimately involved with Charlie Puth, Zedd, and Justin Bieber. Is she with The Weeknd for love or for money?
Hadid thinks the “Hands to Myself” singer is no good. She’s not alone, though. Even Gomez’s own mother has an issue with her daughter’s relationship! According to Radar, her mother might have said, “Ditch the drink, drugs and dating, or you will have hell to pay!” The Weeknd was known for his heavy drug use, but Gomez was known for it, too. Her mother wants her daughter to be safe, just like Hadid wants The Weeknd to be safe. Will The Weeknd and Gomez continue their affair, or will their loved ones tear it to pieces?
