Hulu’s Runaways Series Casts Its Pride

The MCU continues to expand, as the cast of Hulu’s Runaways TV series was announced earlier this week, and you’ll definitely recognize some of the actors.

The MCU continues to expand, as the cast for the upcoming Runaways TV series was announced earlier this week. Along with the main cast of teenagers, the roles of the parents have been filled as well, and you’ll definitely recognize some of the actors.

Perhaps most notable for science fiction and fantasy fans is the casting of James Marsters of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame. Marsters, alongside Ever Carradine, will play Victor and Janet Stein, parents of Chase. Like all the parents on this show, they will be portraying villains as part of the Pride. Executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage announced their excitement of the Pride casting, saying, “This cast is an abundance of riches. We are so excited to have assembled our Pride, though for the fate of humanity we should be very concerned…”

Along with Marsters and Carradine, the cast of parents includes Annie Wersching and Kip Pardue as the mother and father of Carolina; Kevin Weisman and Brigid Brannaghn as parents to Gert; Ryan Sands and Angel Parker as Geoffrey and Catherine Wilder, parents to Alex; and Brittany Ishibashi and James Yaegashi wrap up the parental cast as the mother and father of Nico.

Runaways comic co-creator and series executive consultant, Brian K. Vaughn, is very pleased with the casting announcement and can’t wait to see a cast full of various generations on screen.

“[This series] has enough great actors to support two shows, but I love that this project contains multiple generations of incredible talent all in one story.”

The series is due to appear on Hulu at some point in 2018, though a specific release date has yet to be announced. The series will be produced by Hulu, ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Will you be tuning in to Runaways when it hits the small screen?
