After months of speculation, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has finally confirmed that she and her partner, movie star Jason Statham are expecting their first child. The supermodel and actress made her announcement using her personal Instagram page. She posted a picture of herself, kneeling in a white sand beach, wearing a bikini, and looking radiant with a smile and a baby bump.
She captioned the photo with “Very happy to share that Jason and I are expecting!! Lots of love Rosie” she wrote, and then added that the father-to-be took the picture.
Rumors have been circulating that the blond beauty is expecting, but, until her big reveal in this social media post, she has remained silent, and, whenever she was out in public, she’d usually cover up her stomach.
Huntington-Whiteley has appeared in films such as Transformers: Dark of The Moon and the critically acclaimed Mad Max:Fury Road. But she is more well known for being one of the world’s most successful models.
Last year, Forbes named her as the fifth highest paid model in the world; she was tied with Gigi Hadid. Both women were estimated to have earned around $9 million. But, now with a baby on the way, her priorities may shift. Three years ago, in an interview with Elle UK, she hinted that there will come a time that motherhood may take priority over her modeling career.
“I always see myself working, but definitely being a mum will be a big part of me,” she said. “I think there is naturally a point where you think, ‘I don’t care about myself as number one any more.’ I want to care about other things.”
Before anyone mourns this, take note that she said that she will always be working. It just so happens that her child will be the most important thing to her — as it should. Pretty sure she is strong enough to do both, right? Besides Jason is there to help.
