While some claim that James Cameron’s Avatar (2009) had a weak story — or at least one that was heavily borrowed from other films — not many can deny that the visuals and special effects of that world were, and still are, unprecedentedly beautiful and jaw-dropping. And, for the first time, we will get to experience that world and dive into Cameron’s fantastical and cinematic wonderland.
We have seen some incredible art work and design for this Imagineering endeavor, but now we get to see some more actual, albeit brief, footage of the attraction that is getting us amped up! Even if you aren’t a fan of the movie, you can’t help but jump up and down when you watch these new teaser videos. Who would think we would ever be able to conceive something like this?
Just a few days ago, The Hollywood Reporter showed us what Disney released to the public for their “World of Avatar” trailers, and it’s nothing short of awesome. The two previews are entitled “Na’vi River Journey” and “Avatar Flight of Passage.” Lush, mist-filled jungles and winding rivers around rainbow forests inhabiting mystical creatures, along with waterfalls flowing into the sea, make this world look like we literally stepped into the screen of the Avatar movie.
With Cameron’s Avatar 2 (2018), Avatar 3 (2020), Avatar 4 (2022), and Avatar 5 (2023) on the way, we are certainly at no shortage in the future for the world of blue aliens from Pandora.
Avatar 2 will be released on December 21, 2018, almost 10 years after the original film. With such an unusually long wait for a sequel to a film this successful and a date that has continually been pushed back, it is safe to say that we are going to get something quite extraordinary.
Disney Theme Parks all over the world are adding exciting new lands and attractions, with both California’s Disneyland Resort and Florida’s Walt Disney World opening their own versions of a Star Wars Land. The much anticipated land will be opening in 2019, so there’s a lot of theme park news to be enthusiastic about.
Disney World’s The World of Avatar is set to open this summer in Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, on May 27, 2017. It is sure to fit right in with the African Safari, Expedition Everest, and the giant Tree of Life. We can’t wait to fly down to Florida and check this out!
Check out these quick but enrapturing preview clips below from Disney Parks, and tell us what you think! Aren’t you excited???
