Alien: Covenant Releases Prologue Trailer Introducing The Doomed Crew

Alien: Covenant has released prologue trailer “Last Supper” which introduces the crew of the ship, Covenant, during their presumably final happy moment.

Alien: Covenant has released a prologue trailer that introduces us to the presumably doomed crew of the colony ship en route to a dangerous planet on the far side of the galaxy.

“To the Covenant!” they extol, toasting their vessel that bears the movie’s title.

This may very well be one of the last moments that we will see the crew enjoy themselves. After all, the prologue is given the title of “Last Supper”.

Knowing full well how movies in the Alien franchise go, we may be seeing only one of this guys survive. But the question is, who? Will it be James Franco, who portrays the ship’s captain Branson? We see him only for a few seconds since he appears to be sick and requires some rest. His departure is what prompts everyone else to have a little bit of fun before they go to cryo sleep for the journey.

As he leaves, there is a sly wink from Daniels, played by Katherine Waterston, who is his wife and the terraforming expert for the new planet. And that seems to be an interesting new element to this franchise — since it seems that the crew is made up entirely of couples, which, of course, makes sense since they are about to start a new colony. This dynamic should add more drama when things start to turn dire.

The humans aboard are accompanied by an android played by Michael Fassbender, who returns to the franchise as Walter — a more advanced version of David, the android he played in Prometheus.

Speaking of David, that character is also set to make an appearance together with Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace, who is the lone survivor of Prometheus.

It’ll be interesting to see what they bring to the film and what mystery will be unraveled. Alien: Covenant is set to hit cinemas on May 19, 2017. Check out the prologue trailer below.
