Move over, Donald Trump. Make way for Hillary Clinton.
She had a much needed hiatus, but she’s back in action. She’s ready to jump into the political ring and KO her opponents. They better grab their boxing gloves, because Clinton’s packing a punch. She gave her own speech at Women for Women (an organization that fights for women’s rights), and she touched on the 2016 presidential election. While she acknowledged her own faults, she also pointed a finger at FBI Director James Comey. “I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me but were scared off,” she says. The director insinuated that Clinton “mishandled classified emails,” and he was hell-bent on letting the world know. People were already giving her side-eyes, so his rash decision fueled their distrust even more. She was not to be trusted.
Comey had influence over the election’s outcome for sure, but who cares? Trump will be Americans’ president for the next four years, so everyone needs to adjust, including Clinton. She’s handling her disappointment pretty well, though. She’s still going to make a difference, and her losses are just lessons learned. “Clinton will position herself as a ‘quiet catalyst’ with the launch of a political action committee that will bolster organizations and movements she cares about. She will also return to the paid speaking circuit and has plans to publish two books,” a Vanity Fair article reads. Whether people love her or hate her, they can’t deny her hustle. She’s a woman empowered through scorn, and she’s going to wield her pain, embarrassment, and humiliation into the sharpest sword.
Watch out, world. Clinton’s here to stay … and slay.
