Game of Thrones is known for its violence. So much so that those involved in the show might be desensitized to the gruesome scenes that they tend to do season after season.
But now the cast themselves are raising alarm bells. Recently they were asked for predictions on what to expect for the show’s final and eighth season, and they answered with an ominous word: carnage.

Seriously, what could be worse than what we have seen so far? The show of course is hard to predict, but we know that it is leading to an invasion of Westeros by the White Walkers and their army of the undead. If the eight episode of Season 5 “Hardhome” is anything to go by, we may end up seeing a lot of fan favorites go down-no one is safe, perhaps even Kit Harington’s Jon Snow, who was just recently resurrected!
But before we get to that frozen finale, it seems that we have to go through upcoming Season 7’s burn-fest! (Hey it is based on a book series, known as the Song of Ice and Fire after all.) Game of Thrones recently set a record for having the largest number of people set on fire by an entertainment production! “In one battle scene we set more stuntmen on fire than have ever been simultaneously set on fire,” executive producer, David Benioff said.
The show’s stunt coordinator Rowley Irlam gave more details. “One sequence has 73 fire burns and that itself is a record,” he said “No film or TV show has ever done that in a whole show, let alone in one sequence. We also set 20 people on fire at one time, which is also a record.”
We of course assume that this may be because of Daenerys’ dragons going to war on her behalf, something which the fans are of course looking forward to. We have had snippets of dragon action before, and it will be thrilling to see them properly utilized in several battles.
Game of Thrones will return for its seventh season on July 16 on HBO.
