#SPNPHX Spotlight: Rob Benedict, Matt Cohen, And Richard Speight Jr. Panel

Trio Matt Cohen, Robert Benedict, and Richard Speight graced the Phoenix Supernatural Convention (SPNPHX) this past weekend. Here are the highlights.

We had a triple threat grace the Phoenix Supernatural Convention stage (SPNPHX): Robert Benedict, who played Chuck Shurley/God and lead singer of the Indie Band Louden Swain; Matthew Cohen, who played young John Winchester; and Richard Speight Jr. who portrayed Archangel Gabriel on the show. The panel was full of fun and entertainment!

Panel Highlights:

The Pineapple On Pizza Debate

Also known as the Pineapple Pizza Campaign 2020. Richard and Robert got into it when a fan asked about their opinions on pineapple on pizza. Richard went full-fledged campaign mode against the topping on the pizza, while Robert came clean and told fans that he enjoys pineapple on his pizza very much. “I like it both ways. Pineapple, no pineapple.” Matt explained that he was a fan of all pizza, “so whatever the hell is on it, it’s good by me.” Be ready to hit the polls in 2020, ladies and gentlemen.

Impromptu Sing-a-long

There was some talk of the Scooby-Doo-themed episode, and then Richard started an impromptu sing-a-long after someone mentioned their favorite character was Hei Hei from Moana (and he had no idea what movie that was!). Robert made a comment that Richard only knew three Disney animated films, at which point Richard took it upon himself to begin singing “Under The Sea” from The Little Mermaid. Matt and Robert joined in, and, although they forgot some lyrics, fans enjoyed their singing abilities.

The Dab Fest

After a fan did some research and told the trio about ‘dabbing,’ all three of them went into a complete dab fest. They began to do try multiple versions of the popular dance move. Out of the three of them, Matt Cohen was definitely my favorite when they were competing. Later on in the panel, a fan was brought on stage as Matt read the fan’s essay about “the art of dab.”

Overall, this panel was absolutely hilarious. The trio definitely knows how to entertain and keep the audience on their toes. Make sure you keep up with Matt, Robert, and Richard on their respective Twitters. Also make sure you keep up with Creation Entertainment for all of your Supernatural Convention news.
