We were introduced to Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) in season two of Daredevil last year. While Matt Murdock deals with his foes without killing, the same can’t be said for Frank, and this antithesis made for a really interesting dynamic between these two men as both of them had logic and reasoning for their choices. The popularity and interest in Frank from the little bits we saw of him in Daredevil prompted Marvel and Netflix to give him a solo show of his own. The Punisher, a 13-episode season starring Jon Bernthal as the titular character, is set to air sometime later this year. When we met Frank in Daredevil, he had already taken on the role of the Punisher after his family was murdered, but this show will likely go back in time and let us meet Frank before all of that began, as well as continue on his story since we last saw him.
Though Marvel recently released The Defenders on Netflix, which featured a huge crossover of the four other Netflix shows, Frank Castle was not included in the cast. However, a short little teaser was played after the credits of the last episode. This little teaser didn’t show much but it did leave us wanting more.
