Reese Witherspoon is doing TV like a boss.
Following her hit HBO miniseries earlier this year, Big Little Lies, which she starred in and produced, the Oscar-winning actress is heading back to the small screen for a guest-starring gig. On her Instagram page, Mindy Kaling, star and creator of Hulu’s The Mindy Project, revealed that Witherspoon will be appearing in an episode of the show’s new season this fall.

Fans of Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling will be quick to note that in addition to the two co-starring (with Oprah, no less!) in Ava DuVernay’s blockbuster adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time (due out next year), they also share a particularly festive (and hilarious) bond.
In a 2014 episode of The Mindy Project, Kaling’s character, Dr. Mindy Lahiri, decorated for the holiday season with an inspired “Wreath Witherspoon.” Witherspoon shared the love soon after on her Instagram page.
At the premiere of Witherspoon’s latest film, Home Again, which comes out September 8, Witherspoon shared her excitement about appearing on The Mindy Project: “We had so much fun. She asked me to do it, and I was like, ‘Of course!’”

As summer winds down, Witherspoon has a packed fall in store. In addition to rom-com Home Again and her guest spot on The Mindy Project, she is Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie for her role in Big Little Lies. She’s also signed on to star in a new limited-run TV series about morning shows in New York, alongside Jennifer Aniston.
With so much on her plate, Reese Witherspoon is busier than ever but still keeping it cool like the A-list star and brand manager she is.
