Will There Be A Reunion Of Original Jurassic Stars In ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’?

Will we be seeing the original three stars of ‘Jurassic Park’ in the latest instalment of the franchise, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’?

The Jurassic Park franchise is one of the most successful film franchises of all time. It has generated far more than $5 billion in revenues. The latest outing alone, 2015’s Jurassic World which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, has earned more than $1.6 billion, making it the fourth highest earning film of all time!

And all that success began with 1993’s Jurassic Park, which features at the core of its adventure arc a trio of main stars, palaeontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), paleobotanist Ellie Sattler, and chaos theorist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum).

Goldblum will go on to star in the sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park while Neill headlined Jurassic Park III  with Dern returning to a smaller role. But so far we haven’t seen the three returning together for a single film. So will the upcoming instalment Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom feature a reunion of sorts? There is a possibility.

We already have confirmation that Goldblum will be doing a cameo, and he even appears in the trailer! As for Sam Neill, according to the Youtube channel Mr Sunday Movies, a crew member in the Fallen Kingdom set spotted the star getting out of a “blacked-out” BMW while filming was taking place. Of course, we are not sure how reliable this report is or even if proven true that does not mean that Neil may actually appear in the film. But it does bode well for a cameo of sorts.

Now how about Laura Dern? ET was able to catch up with the actress and asked her if she will be returning to the franchise. But she merely teased “(It) could be fun, I mean I love Ellie Sattler,” she said. And she did state that she thinks its a great idea. “She’s a tough feminist, come on! We need her back.”

So one confirmed, another rumoured to appear, and the last one being coy about it. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see when the film comes out.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is scheduled for release in the United States on June 22, 2018, on June 6 in France, and on June 7 for selected territories.
