How To Get Away With Murder: 04×14, The Day Before He Died

With only 2 episodes left, are we finally going to figure out what happened the day before Wes died?

With only 2 episodes left, are we finally going to figure out what happened to Wes? This isn't the only thing on our minds. Issac is in the hospital and so is Simon. Only, Simon is awake. Will he spill?

We start out in Wes's apartment, only is it Laurel? Nope it's Wes from 8 months ago. He is getting a phone call, we are thinking from Mrs. Castillo. Yup! He meets her at a coffee shop and she wants to explain something to him, only he is reluctant to do so. Smart Wes begins to record what she is saying. It's the conversation that Frank found. She wants to pay him, to stop seeing Laurel because of his legal trouble.

Now we are in the present, everyone is listening to the tape. Laurel thinks Mrs. Castillo is insane. Laurel wants Bonnie to go to Denver, but Frank and Bonnie won't let her. Bonnie decides to go to Annalise.

Everyone else is on a high coming back from the class action. But, Annalise drops the bomb that Simon is awake. Bonnie shows up to talk to Annalise. She tells her about Issac still being in the hospital, but neglects to talk about Laurel. Then they get a call that Simon wants to talk to Oliver.

The detective meets Oliver outside of the Simon's room. She tells him not to prompt Simon with his side of the story. Oliver goes inside and sees Simon, it is clear that Simon has no recollection. Simon goes back to the group. Connor says that that might not be true for long.

Frank and Laurel are on their own mission. They went to see Mrs. Castillo. And we are going back in time.

Mrs. Castillo is telling him that she is going to break Wes' heart and leave him. In the present, Laurel and Frank are playing the tape. Laurel flat out asks why she had him killed and she claims she didn't. Laurel then asks why she didn't help after Wes left the voice mail. Is she telling the truth?

Annalise meets with Nate about Simon. She also apoligizes for dragging him into the mess when she should be focusing on his father's trial.

The group is hanging out and Michaela is on her phone. Connor pulls her into another room and confronts her about her one night stand with Marcus. She is conflicted about her feelings. Then her phone rings, its the detective, she is being questioned about Simon. Michaela calls the detective out on not having anything.

But of course it is raising a red flag for the group and they believe that Simon is remember more from what happened the night in question. Annalise says that Oliver has to convince Simon to choose Annalise as his lawyer and Oliver goes to do it.

Oliver says that he has failed and that Simon failed. He says that she already has lawyer. Tegan. Annalise says that the only reason she is there is because of Mr. Castillo and the files that are missing.

We are now in the passed. Wes is in his apartment contemplating with Mrs. Castillo said and he decides to rip up the check she gave him. We also see him put the flash drive in the hiding space that Frank found it in. He also puts Dominick's number is his phone as "in case of emergency."

Laurel then knocks on Wes' door with subs and notes from class. Laurel wants to talk more about Frank and Laurel says that nothing happened between the two of them.  Wes believes her, but now we know why his mind was somewhere else.

Back to the present, Laurel is sitting there thinking about Wes and why he didn't tell her about his visit with her mother. Laurel wants Frank to go tell Annalise about everything, but Frank thinks Annalise has too much on her plate. Frank goes to his phone and there is an alert on Bonnie's car. Someone has tampered with it. Bonnie is in her office, and Frank goes to check on her and the car. Frank says the car is fine, and he also tells her that they went to go see Mrs. Castillo. Now Bonnie is convinced something is wrong with the car.

Annalise is in the hospital. Waiting for Issac? That is exactly what she is doing, and when she goes to walk away, Issac calls out to her.

Laurel is fixated on listening to Wes' recording. She keeps having flashbacks to her conversations with Wes, when there is a knock at the door. It is Michaela, there to ask what she should do about the Marcus situation. Laurel brings up both of their upbringings and how their family history does not make relationships easy.

Asher suggests that they should all get married so that they don't have to testify against each other in court. But Connor and Simon make faces, and now Asher knows something is up.

Annalise and Issac are having a nice conversation. Annalise asks if he is in pain and Issac tells her that this is not her fault. Issac tells her that this is the last time he is going to see her. What does that mean for Issac? How will Annalise bounce back?

Her phone rings and someone else needs her. Simon is giving his statement, he remembers the party. This is trouble.

Michaela going to Connor and Oliver's apartment where Asher is. He already knows by the time she gets there. Of course, he is not understanding.

Laurel is getting a call from Annalise about Simon. Annalise wants her to hide and Frank is going to help her do it.

Annalise walks into the apartment with everyone and drops the news about Simon remembering the party. She wants them all to convince Simon not to make a statement. She sends Oliver in and says that he is Tegan's assistant. Michaela forces a run in with Tegan in the ladies room and tries to talk to her about Mr. Castillo and how corrupt he is.

Oliver puts Simon on the phone with Annalise. She tells him that she will help him get a green card if he helps them blow the whistle on Antares. Tegan walks back into Simon's room and Oliver is gone. Simon tells Tegan he wants to cancel his appointment with police and then fire's Tegan.

That problem solved, but new problem. Laurel is missing.

She goes straight to Todd Denver and blackmails him. In return, she just wants to know who killed Wes.

Laurel returns to her mother. Did her mother kill him? Laurel is shutting all of the blinds in her mother's place. Laurel tells her mother that she knows she got Wes's phone call. She claims that she called him back to help him. Wes tells Mrs. Castillo to do what ever she can to keep Laurel safe. After Wes hangs up with her. Mrs. Castillo called Mr. Castillo to tell him Wes was going to go to the police. Why did she turn him over?

Annalise and Frank are talking and Bonnie is calling, but no one is picking up. She has information that Denver has the files and that he playing both sides. Denver calls Jorge Castillo and says that Bonnie is up to no good and that someone needs to handle it.

Nate calls, there was in a car accident and there is a body. Pretty sure it is Bonnie's accident, but hopefully Bonnie survived.

One episode left and the picture still is not perfectly clear about what happened. Although there hasn't been a season finale that has been dull yet, so we can not wait to see what cliff hangers are left, although I'm sure we will also be completely frustrated! Watch next Thursday at 10:00 p.m EST to see what happens!
