Christina Aguilera Gives Us ‘Twice’ From ‘Liberation’ And It Has Us Shook

Christina Aguilera has released the second song off of her upcoming album ‘Liberation’ and its giving us chills.

Christina Aguilera has released the second song off of her upcoming album 'Liberation' and its giving us chills. ‘Twice’ is a ballad and it’s the ballad we’ve been waiting for since ‘Beautiful’ because it shows Aguilera’s vulnerability in such a subtle, simple way. She showcases her powerhouse vocals throughout the song, but never in an overpowering way to the song. ‘Twice’ is a perfectly balanced track that we can’t stop listening to.

Aguilera's lyrics in ‘Twice’ are so revealing and pure that we feel like we’re getting a glimpse into her mind and we love it. She didn’t need a big ballad or a ‘dirrty’ track to make an impact because her subtle vulnerability is enough and that’s what her fans have been waiting for. Aguilera has said that she lost herself and her voice which is why the album took so long because she had to strip it all back and start fresh. ‘Twice’ is evidence that her process worked.

“Are you devil? Are you angel?

Am I heaven? Am I hell?

I can barely find the proof to save myself

Are you water? Are you fire?

Are you filthy? Are you pure?

Oh, I thought by now I'd know

But I'm not sure”

If this new song is any indication of what we’re going to get when Liberation drops in mid June, then we are even more hype then we were during the initial announcement. We loved Bionic and Lotus, but we think Liberation is what we’ve been waiting for since Stripped. Listen to ‘Twice’ below and share your thoughts on this raw, vulnerable, ballad.
