Gregg Sgar Offers Hope To Fans With The Video For “Signs”

“I just want my fans to feel something,” he says. “Happy, sad, pissed off, mad – as long as they’re feeling!”

Having been taught to play the drums by his uncle at the age of 8 and after learning to record music by the time he was 12, Gregg Sgar was perhaps always destined for a part in the music world. With a sound that blends elements of rock, R&B, Hip-Hop and Lo-Fi, Greg, the winner of the 2018 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, has now begun to establish himself as someone not afraid to be unique in and through the music he makes. Inspired by the likes of Chris Cornell, Lady Gaga and David Bowie among others, he is also an artist who prides himself on making music with a message, and his latest single, “Signs”, the video for which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, has a timely and powerful one.

At a time when many people around the world are struggling with the mental, emotional and physical effects of Covid-19, the lyrics of the song, such as “even when you’re crying, look for just one sign”, sung from the stand and viewpoint of someone struggling with depression, are ultimately inspiring and uplifting. “Signs” offers hope and encouragement to anyone needing it, with Gregg hoping he can make a lasting connection to and with his fans through the music. “I just want my fans to feel something,” he says. “Happy, sad, pissed off, mad – as long as they’re feeling!”

When asked about the creative process of this live performance video Gregg said “I made this video to show fans the creative process of how this song came about, as a live performance. It’s hard to hear all of the different elements that make up a song, so I tried to paint a clear picture of those elements and the minds behind the song.”
