Having first put pen to paper to write her own songs at the age of 11, it didn’t take Chloe Castro long to realise that music was the right path for her. Having made it through to the quarter finals of The Voice UK back in 2016 and with three singles already released, she’s certainly established herself as an artist and a talent to watch.
With support behind her from the likes of Huw Stephens and having been included on several playlists, the last year has seen her fanbase grow considerably, and such looks set to grow even more with the release of her new single “Used To Be”, out September 18th, which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere.
The track, co-written and produced with her long term collaborator and friend Jake Karno, offers another taste of what fans can expect from Chloe’s upcoming EP ‘Amid’ out in October, and she says of the song: “‘Used to Be’ is about moving on and bettering yourself after a tough relationship. Coming out of it and realising you’re actually better for it. It’s the second single from my upcoming EP ‘AMID’ which also delves a bit into my previous relationships and how they’ve affected me. For me, when I hear Used to Be, I feel like everything’s gonna be ok, like I’m on my way to better days and that’s what I hope to make others feel when they listen to it too. It’s all about having ambitions for yourself and telling that person you used to be in a relationship with, that I’m gonna do what I set out to do regardless of you. It’s a little bop to help you get over that ex.”
