Erick Beau Presents “Waiting For You”

“..a song about waiting for someone you love and long to be with but is unavailable because of life challenges.”

Like many individuals who later go on to pursue music as a career, Erick Beau grew up in a home where both hearing and playing music was as common as walking in and out the front door. Although his first instrument was a violin, he refused to settle for having a talent with just one tool and later took up the guitar as he began to write songs.  Before he hit his teens, he was performing with various bands and caught enough attention of others in the industry to sign a production and licensing deal by the time he turned 18.

However, unlike many artists who find their work earning them praise and acclaim, Beau didn’t immediately lap up the limelight, so to speak. Instead, showcasing the rebellious streak that so many of us have somewhere with us, he turned away from the music industry and the many demands they placed – or wanted to place upon him – and turned his attention to studying law, while writing songs – with lyrics that tell stories, express emotions and help paint vivid images in a person’s mind – in his spare time.

Inspired by his own life and experiences, while heavily influenced by the likes of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and U2 among others, older, and in many ways, wiser, Beau has now put his focus back on music and is ready to share his artistic – both lyrical and instrumental – talents with the world, and PopWrapped are delighted to premiere his new single “Waiting For You”, which he says is: “..a song about waiting for someone you love and long to be with but is unavailable because of life challenges.”

He goes on to add that Waiting For You was inspired by “..when I was involved in a long distance relationship. I had met her on one of my trips to Europe and had to come back to Montreal. Because of the distance, we were not able to see each other for a long time. We were communicating via Skype. This was very difficult for me as I really missed her. There were also a lot of fears to overcome in order to make this relationship work: dealing with the different cultures, one of us having to leave his or her family and country, and also wondering what if it didn’t work, as in previous relationships. All these questions need to be honestly faced and discussed. Sometimes this leads to happy endings and sometimes not. But whatever happens, it is beautiful to discover another soul and to love them. The first thing that came to me was the title of the song and then the melody. As I was writing the melody the lyrics were coming to me at the same time.
