EMPRESS® Drops Her “SnowGlobe” Music Video

“It was so special to work with the local dance studio that I grew up dancing at..”

Having first put her fingers to an instrument – the piano – at the age of four, Shannon Rugani, aka EMPRESS®, has always felt a connection to music. That connection led her to later become a professional dancer and perform on Broadway in the Tony-Award winning production of An American in Paris. It’s perhaps not surprising to see therefore that Shannon is now making her mark on the music world in another way – by gearing up to release her debut EP, We Own This Crown, in the Spring, having recently dropped the first single from the collection, “SnowGlobe.” Today, PopWrapped are delighted to unveil EMPRESS’ video for the track.

EMPRESS says of her new single: “”SnowGlobe” is about my journey in discovering where true happiness comes from. 2020 also gave this song a new meaning because we were all forced to go “inside” – literally and figuratively – to find happiness because Covid interrupted our common habits of being able to seek outwardly for it. The extra alone time definitely forced me to get to know myself better. The irony is that when we go “within” and find that spark that lives inside of each one of us, we find that we had true happiness all along.”

Asked about the video, she adds: “I couldn’t think of a better way to bring the music video for “SnowGlobe” to life than with Zorbs – not to mention they’re very Covid safe! I filmed the music video in my hometown, Lake Tahoe, which was a really cool full-circle moment for me. It was so special to work with the local dance studio that I grew up dancing at and filming “SnowGlobe” at my family-friends lakeside property. The entire community came together to create this video and I feel so blessed to have so much support from my hometown.”
