January Jane Drop “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” Video

As a band who like to put their own twist on modern and 80’s influenced pop-rock, January Jane – lead vocalist/lyricist Pat Via, guitarist Mitch Mitchell, and keyboardist Peter Scialla – have already been championed by the likes of Hollywood Life and Music Daily. Ahead of releasing their ‘Your Drug’ EP later this summer, the trio recently dropped their latest single, a cover of the Hall & Oates classic “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)”, the video for which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere. This impressive rework of the track, which features on their ‘Your Drug’ EP, is perhaps their strongest release -certainly their catchiest – and introduces H&O’s hit to a whole new audience and generation of music fans.

Asked about the concept behind the video and the shoot, Pat says: “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” began with a lot of different ideas, but at the end of the day we really just wanted something that was fun and had a carefree type of vibe. Keeping it simple while showcasing some of the important women in our lives – that sounded like a great video to us! We brought on Director Ron Geffen and filmed it at Stoodio One in Brooklyn which was great because everyone had lots of space to feel comfortable social distance-wise. Hopefully this is the last video where we have to worry about COVID protocols but filming was a blast either way. Mitch got to use his ultra rare pink EVH Ernie Ball Music Man guitar, and I got to use my less-rare blue suit I had ready for the video. We were happy we could get such a great group of women to come dance, including Mitch’s Mom, a Brooklynette, great friends, the kids and significant others of the band – fun day of filming!”
