Kory Shore Shares His Debut EP

Known for its country music, Nashville has produced some of the most sought-after talent of our time. But now, with the musical climate changing, indie pop is seeing its own explosion with artists like Kory Shore at the forefront. Kory’s debut EP ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’, which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, presents a vulnerable glimpse into his dealings with the turbulence of 2020, new love, feelings of anxiety and isolation – a wide range of relatable emotions to introduce the young artist into a new wave of authentic mainstream music.

Having majored in song-writing while attending Belmont University, song-writing comes naturally to Kory, and through ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’, we are taken on a journey with an honest deep dive into his psyche and inspirations. Light-hearted tracks like “IDKAT” reveal his humble nature, as he and Hip Hop artist danny G admit to not knowing a thing about love, while there’s a rather sonic landscape sound to “Us”, which will be released as a single later in the year. Another fan favorite, “Enough”, grapples with self-doubt as the confines of last years’ quarantine got the better of his anxieties about the future. Relentlessly hard on himself, he fought time and time again to reach everyone’s expectations which almost always felt far out of reach. Then there’s the title track; solemn lyrics pair with a jovial hook to brilliantly describe the collective depression felt during COVID – it’s a deep dive into our societies’ mental health.

Kory says of his new collection: “My EP “Blood Sweat & Tears” is for anyone who struggles with self-confidence and self-belief. My hope is to connect with and inspire others to build the life they know deep down they want for themselves.”
