Singer-songwriter Caroline Kasay is making her debut into the music realm with her heartfelt pop-influenced track, “Our Own World.”
“The song started out as a “response song” to Steven Curtis Chapman’s 2007 hit “Cinderella.” However, as the writing continued, my dad became the biggest inspiration behind the song. He was always my hero. When I was a kid, he played the King in my fairytale playtime while I was the princess, and I always knew I could lean on him when my heart was broken.” explains Caroline.
Her father, John Kasay played in the NFL for 21 years. Throughout that experience, she grew up living her life through the public eye.
“I have always turned to him in every breakup, disappointment, injury, and celebration. My dad always made me feel safe, and so I wanted to communicate that joy and security I always experienced with him in my new single “Our Own World.” In my mind, he is larger than life.” explains Caroline.
Throughout the track, Caroline’s vocals shine through on the track as she sings:
“And the rest of the world disappears / And no one can find us when we are here / And we talk and we laugh and we cry as we spin and we twirl / In our own world”

“I hope that as people listen to “Our Own World,” they can feel themselves being taken to another place that is secret, safe, and where they feel their childhood come to life again. More than anything, I hope that they can relate to the relationship that I have with my dad. I know that not everyone is blessed with a father that they can look up to, but I hope that this song can be a reminder that there are good men out there who love unconditionally. My dad was more than just my hero. Because he played in the NFL for 21 years, there were thousands of people who looked up to him and knew the kind of person that he was. I hope that those people can listen to “Our Own World” and see the John Kasay that I got to grow up loving. He was more than a great football player, he is a great dad,” explains Caroline.
