Premiere: TKOH and t.Harts releases raunchy dance-pop track “Cigarette Burns”

Pop-singer TKOH teams up with legendary dance-pop producer t. Harts on the new club banger “Cigarette Burns”. Produced by t. Harts, “Cigarette Burns” has notes of classic EDM influences like Tiesto and KSHMR as well as influence from queer ballroom music and just a little bit of Britney Spears. The summer may be over, but the party keeps going on this edgy and fun dance-pop bop!

t. Harts and TKOH explain that the concept of Cigarette Burns is about “wanting to unlearn the outdated concepts from movies and tv that we were all raised on” and find a non-fantasy, down-to-earth love. As the song progresses, they describe that “seeing through the fantasy doesn’t mean you’re not still addicted to it… It just reminds us that maybe the fantasy is what we all want.” Fittingly, a cigarette burn is a cue mark which signals the end of a reel (or scene), which represents the change of perspective on love throughout the song. Although the concept of the track sounds a bit serious, this EDM pop single has been declared “pure, dumb, dance with your friends fun!”

t. Harts is a Salt Lake City based producer, songwriter and artist who fully immerses himself in the rhythms, stories, colors, and textures of the music he creates. After starting out as a solo artist and being in a duo called GUSTO, t.Harts was hired to make multiple albums of sync music for warner chappell and other libraries. His iconic style inspires his collaborators and listeners to enter a creative space where everything is allowed, and nothing is off-limits!

Now, meet TKOH: glittery, poison-soaked pop music by songwriter and performer Joe McLean. From dance-rock infused bops to clear-eyed paranoia anthems, TKOH’s debut EP, “Hollyweird” reimagines the City of Angels through the lens of a modern queer James Dean archetype. TKOH’s most recent EP, the “Fire Island Pining (Season 1) dives into fresh pop territory, marrying decades of queer nostalgia with modern dance pop.
