The Battle Royale FPS debuts new character and map

Fortnite may be one of the most popular Battle Royale game for now, but it would be silly to sleep on EA’s Apex Legends. Electronic Arts launched Apex Legends in February 2019, and has seen consistent growth since as it enters its 11th season.

Developed with Respawn and Panic Button Games, the game has been around for around 2 years and keeps evolving with new loot, gear, and characters.

For this season, players are on a new beach map. Don’t let the relaxing beach fool you though, this is not a game where you can let your guard down. Between some assorted monsters (Prowlers) and the battle, you’re going to be busy finding loot and staying alive.

“I enjoy the aggressive play style and adrenaline inducing scenarios,” says TheHumbleLamb, a veteran player who has been following the journey of Apex since the beginning.

The thing that’s most interesting about Apex Legends is the lore that surrounds it, and how Respawn has handled dropping hints about plans, while keeping other secrets safe.

Each season introduces a new character and has a title. For instance, this season we have the Titanfall character Ash who has come to play. There’s an episode to go along with the game as well; they release the episodes like comics to go along with the season. The storyline has everything a good soap opera has; relationship drama, and revenge.

Apex Legends lets players choose their Legend, and each Legend has different abilities. Characters fall into four categories: Defensive, Offensive, Recon, and Support. If you’ve ever played a TTRPG, you know one of the best ways to win a game is to have a good team of different abilities. The same goes with Apex.

It’s enough to not only entice players who enjoy Battle Royale games; it’s enough to keep them coming back for more season after season.

“I’ve been playing Apex Legends since Season 1 back in 2019, so just over two years.” says TheHumbleLamb.

“Apex Legends is my first ever Battle Royal FPS game. I am hooked on the fluidity of movement, team based play, and individual ability mechanics. I have never played anything like it.” he gushes.
