They say less is more, but not for the 2013 Grammy Awards. Tuesday CBS issued a ‘Wardrobe Warning’ to celebrities attending the ceremony this Sunday. Their hope is by issuing a warning they will be able to prevent any indecent exposure. Stated in the memo:

”Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered,” reads the memo, distributed to awards show attendees and their representatives. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible `puffy’ bare skin exposure.”

Reports say that the memo was distributed to celebrities and their representatives by a low-level staffer. The information was the topic of discussion of a conference call and was never intended on being put into print. CBS if you remember has had a few run-ins with the FCC. We all remember Janet Jackson’s famous wardrobe malfunction during the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Not to mention this year they failed to censor quarterback Joe Falcco in postgame interview, in which he dropped the dreaded F-Bomb.

There is no doubt that Hollywood is abuzz about the ban. So will the celebrities comply? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. What irks me most about this article is it is aimed entirely at women. Granted they have more show, but I would love it if Adam Levine showed up in a loin cloth. Or if LL Cool J opened the show in that man thong suit a-la Borat. That would have people talking for years to come!
