A company who was once at the cutting edge of the phone market, Apple are now facing constant competition from rivals Samsung. With this latest technology, however, they may be ready to reclaim their crown.
A patent application recently filed by Apple suggests they are working on creating a device that can sense when it is falling, and protect itself from damage. Essentially, an inbuilt sensor of some sort would lead to a movement of a weight or thrust system within the phone, allowing for it to defend itself from the impending impact.
This feature looks to be not only insanely clever, but also just really cool! And if you’re anything like my sister, who dropped and smashed her new iPhone just 23 hours after receiving it as a present, this technology is ideal!
