A Look At The Upcoming Game of Thrones!

Caitlin Swift

Staff Writer

With the Game of Thrones premiere a little over a week away news has been flooding in on the upcoming season! First things first, Author of the book series of the same name, George R.R. Martin will make a cameo this season. It will not be his first however, he appeared in the episode “A Song of Ice and Fire” as well as the Game of Thrones video game as Maester Martin.

Martin also penned the episode “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” which is set to air later this season, ”there was some cool stuff in that episode. There were a number of characters that I didn’t get to write about last year because remember last year I did ‘Blackwater,’ which was a very focused episode.”

The Starks were also spilling details! Maisie Williams had a lot to say about Arya this season. Spending most of season 2 in captivity, season 3 we will see Arya on the move! Get ready for some twists and turns and new acquaintances along the way. But don’t forget about the magic, it will still play a big part in Arya’s story line. Williams had this to say “She thought she knew magic when she met Jaqen H’gar but now she doesn’t even know what’s hit her.”

When we last left older brother Robb Stark he was busy kicking some Lannister ass. Yet we haven’t seen much of the battles. Richard Madden teases about Robb’s future this season “He gets his sword in his hands, but the thing with Robb is he never wants to kill.” Will this hinder the Stark’s winning spree?

The season opener will find the Stark camp a bit downtrodden and a full out mess. Robb knows how to win a battle but can he win a war? For starters he’ll have to come to some realizations. Like maybe holding your mother as a prisoner isn’t the best of ideas.

Watch it all unfold when Game of Thrones Returns to HBO on Sunday, March 31st at 9 pm!
