The phenomenal video game franchise Bioshock could be returning with a new secret project that is currently in the early stages of development.
Back in 2007 the video game production company 2K Games released BioShock, a new type of first person shooter placing players in the underwater and alternate past setting with crazed enemies at every corner. The game had several horror additions paired with EVE, an injectable drug that enhanced the user with a range of abilities. From electricity, fire, swarms of bees or even telekinesis, the game had no shortage of mutant like powers at your dispoal, while also collecting heavy weaponry in a traditional first person shooter fashion.
After it became an insant success, the game managed to spawn a sequel three years later with the return of the fictional city of Rapture, and a third title in 2013 that brought an entiely new plot about a city in the sky. When the developers company Irrational Games shut down – fans became worried we had seen the last of BioShock, but the games' distributors Take Two made it clear that they envisioned it as an "unquestionably permanent franchise." Little had been stated or talked about since the interview back in 2015 until now, as Kotaku has uncovered details on 2k Studios upcoming games which includes a BioShock 4. Other than being referred to as "top secret" we don't know much, but after four years since any news regarding BioShock this comes as exciting news to gamers everywhere.
Among other details I learned while reporting this story: Right next to Hangar 13, a top-secret 2K studio is now working on a top-secret new BioShock game.

Whether it's another video game in the realm of Rapture or Columbia, this will be something worth checking out when it comes to fruition in the near future. Maybe this is that extra push that we needed to bring back an interest in a live action movie too – is that too much to ask?
