Ever wondered what the face behind those horrible trolls on the internet look like? Well, now you can find out! Don’t be surprised if that troll doesn’t look like the 14 year old oversexed boy you expected to be behind those sexist and abusive comments, though!
Now, the first step towards finding your twitter troll is becoming a professional boxer. After that, all you have to do is track the guy down, send him a few threatening messages, and voila! You’ll find yourself on live television a few days later.
At least that is how Curtis Woodhouse did it. For a couple of months now one of these anonymous trolls had been stalking his profile and sending him abusive messages. Apparently the guy wasn’t anonymous enough, though, because Woodhouse managed to track him down, leading to a very quick and perhaps pathetic apology from his abuser.
The two didn’t leave it at that, because the TV show ‘Daybreak’ thought it would make for a great story to put the two of them together on their couch so they could properly make up. And so, in the morning of Thursday the 14th of March, both made their way to London to have a nice, good chat about it.
Of course, for many, nothing can make up for the cowardice act of internet trolling, but it has to be said… James O ‘Brien, the Twitter troll in question, is not a coward. After being publicly embarrassed, the 24 year old happily went on national television to talk about how immature he had been. That does take some guts…
So what is your take on this? Can O’Brien be forgiven, or is what you might call “cyber bullying” just too much of a crime to be forgiven so easily? And do you think Curtis Woodhouse was right in sending those threats? Let us know!
