Abby Anderson Talks Upcoming Album “Sugar Spice”

With a spoon full of sugar and a little spice mixed in, the country music industry welcomed Abby Anderson into the industry back in 2017 as she signed her first-ever record deal.

Being named CMT’s “18 for 2018” and a part of the “Next Women of Country Class” in 2018, Anderson was at the top of her career. With an unexpected halt that nobody in the world saw coming, COVID, Abby wasn’t happy on the inside.

Fast forward to now, no longer with that record label and pursuing her career as an independent artist.

I got to choose all the songs and I love every single one of them,” express Abby. “It just feels like me. There are no boxes or anyone else I have to answer besides myself.”

Her first release independently “Bad Posture,” showcased everything Abby is as an artist. From the piano to the emotion throughout the vocals, the track shows everything Abby desires to be as an artist.

I’ve never even gotten to play piano on my own records before. Getting to play all the parts and come up with the arrangements for my forthcoming record and write all the songs felt like I was actually telling my story.” expresses Abby.

As most artists today are doing, Abby took her story and songs to TikTok and found success right away. In April, the singer-songwriter dropped her sassy and empowerment-filled single “Juicy.”

I’m a big TikTok Fan! It’s been great. I was honestly really nervous about putting [Juicy] out because I don’t know what exactly genre it lands,” expressed Abby. “That’s also why I love it at the same time too. I think that it’s just editing me toward the music I’ve always wanted to make.

As the singer-songwriter continues to pave her lane with her own sound, she announced via Instagram that she will be releasing her debut album “Sugar Spice” on July 15th.

I don’t think there’s any two songs or three songs that sound anything like each other. Yet, it all feels the same in that it’s me,” tells Abby. “Hopefully you can hear this and just hear the joy of my voice.”
