Season 2 of the hit ABC drama Revenge just ended a few weeks ago with a finale showcasing the death of Connor Paolo’s character, Declan Porter, and news has broken out that another character will be departing. That’s right…after two years, series regular Ashley Madekwe, who plays scheming social climber Ashley Davenport, will not be returning for season 3.
Ashley was introduced to viewers as Victoria Grayson’s (Madeleine Stowe) event planner and Emily Thorne’s (Emily VanCamp) best friend that brought her into the elite circle of the Grayson family. In those two years she has had many [failed] relationships and schemes all driven by her ambition to move up the social ladder. But according to Deadline, her option was not picked up because of storyline reasons.
On May 31st, after the news broke out, Madekwe took to her twitter account to confirm it all, claiming that she no longer has a story to tell.
She then reassured Revenge fans that the writers are planning an exit story for her character, also tweeting how she would like to go.
And did you know that Ashley and Connor aren’t the only ones to go? Back in April, the show’s creator Mike Kelley announced that he would be departing and executive producer Sunil Nayar has signed on to take over.
That’s a lot of loss for Revengers in the span of 2 months.
With Revenge returning with its 3rd season in September, how would you like to see Ashley Davenport go?
