Anybody who has read the Shakespeare classic ‘Macbeth’ knows that is not the easiest book to read and comprehend. It’s even harder to perform on stage.

But Scottish actor Alan Cumming is taking his adaptation to Broadway…alone. With the exception of two minor actors who act as the medical staff in the opening scene, Cumming is the only actor.

He will be playing the role of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, as well as Macduff, Duncan and the three witches.

His adaptation of the play is an hour and 45 minutes long, without an intermission. The pay will be hosted at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre starting on April 7th and it will run through June 30th.
