As we reported earlier this week, Beyonce will be covering Amy Winehouse’s signature track, Back to Black, for the upcoming Baz Luhrmann extravaganza, “The Great Gatsby”. And now Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, has come out asking Beyonce for a small request… a request in the order of some £100,000.
That’s right, the late singer’s father took to Twitter on Tuesday in a series of tweets (see below) about the cover news and has “suggested” that Beyonce should give the money to his daughter’s foundation, The Amy Winehouse Foundation, in return for covering the song as a duet with Andre 3000.
“First I have heard about Beyonce and Back to Black. Sounds like some of you don’t like the idea”
“I don’t know this but what if Beyonce gave £100,000 to foundation. Do you know how many kids that would help? Just putting it out there.”
“Let me repeat. This is the first I have heard of Beyonce doing Amy’s song.”
