Well, it’ll be familiar if you went out and saw the franchise’s 2012 installment, Bourne Legacy. Yes, we’re talking about the one and only Jeremy Renner! According to Variety, the Oscar-nominated Avenger will be reprising his role as Aaron Cross in the next installment of the Bourne series.
Damon has said that he would not return to the franchise after his last bout unless director Paul Greengrass agreed to return. Fingers crossed that there’s another installment after this one that features both Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner!
As for the latter, it was rumored that he would be replaced in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Marvel insists that Renner will retain his role within the Marvel family. I don’t know about you, but I’m very relieved about that!
Renner made his big break in the 2009 Oscar-winner for best picture, The Hurt Locker, for which he was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Subsequently, Renner has appeared in blockbusters like The Town, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and The Avengers.
Here’s an interesting connection: Renner starred in The Bourne Legacy alongside Edward Norton, who was also a member of the Marvel family when he played Bruce Banner in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk.
