Anna Kendrick Emerges As Star To Watch At The Sundance Film Festival

Anna Kendrick has quickly emerged as what some are calling the “Queen Bee” of the Sundance Film Festival.

Kendrick has entertained us in the past with memorable roles in Twilight, Up in the Air (which earned her an Oscar nom), Pitch Perfect, 50/50 and is set to entertain us even more with a whopping six films due out in 2014, according to IMDb.

Her triple threat at the Sundance film festival came on Sunday afternoon when someone joked it should have been called “Anna Kendrick Day,” after her three films premiered back-to-back-to-back.

The Voices co-stars Gemma Arterton, Ryan Reynolds and Jackie Weaver, and follows the story of “a disturbed factory worker who hears advice from his pet dog and cat [and] is implicated in the accidental death of his co-worker.” Kendrick plays a girl named Jenny from accounting crushing on Ryan’s factory worker character. It’s dark comedy that is sure to showcase Kendrick’s comedic chops.

In Life After Beth, Kendrick takes on the role of Erica Wexler; family friend to Zach Orfman whose dead girlfriend has come back to life as a zombie. It’s another fun role for Kendrick and we know she’ll kill it. Well…you get it.

The performance that has a lot of people talking is her turn as Jenny (she plays lots of Jenny’s, we have noticed) in Happy Christmas, alongside Lena Dunham and Melanie Lynskey. IMDb describes her character as “Irresponsible 20-something Jenny arrives in Chicago to live with her older brother Jeff, a young filmmaker living a happy existence with his novelist wife Kelly and their two-year-old son. Jenny’s arrival shakes up their quiet domesticity as she and her friend Carson instigate an evolution in Kelly’s life and career. Meanwhile, Jenny strikes up a rocky relationship with the family’s baby sitter-cum-pot dealer.” Sounds like it’s gonna be a good one.

More films we can look forward to is The Last 5 Years with Jeremy Jordan (SMASH), Get A Job with Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and one I’m personally drooling to see, Into the Woods which co-stars just about everyone.

So give some mad props to Miss Kendrick for being one of Hollywood’s hardest working ladies! We wish her luck and can’t wait to see these films!
