It seems like a constant tug of war between which tech company is better: Apple or Samsung. Recently, Apple landed in some hot water, narrowly avoiding a ban on some of their older iPads & iPhones when the International Trade Commission ruled back in June that the super-company had infringed on certain Samsung patents concerning 3G transmissions.
The bill was vetoed over the weekend by Trade Rep Michael Froman, who says he did so because of “competitive conditions in the U.S. economy and the effect on U.S. consumers.”
Apple claims that these patents governed essential services, requiring Samsung to license them on generous and affordable terms.
This call of infringement on patents is only one of several that Apple and Samsung have thrown at each other over the years.
Can’t we all just get along?
