$44,100 – now that’s a whole lot of roast beef! Apparently Arby’s has it to spare, since the fast food giant shelled out that much to win the eBay auction for Pharrell Williams’ Grammy hat, perhaps one of the most famous pieces of head wear in modern entertainment history.

NY Mag revealed the identity of the auction winner yesterday, which actually wasn’t much of a surprise, considering Arby’s obsession with the Vivienne Westwood designed accessory. US Weekly recounted the Twitter exchange Arby’s had with Pharrell where the chain noted how similar the hat was to its own famous logo.

Perhaps some Pharrell superfans are peeved that the hat went to a corporation instead of a music lover, but no one can deny that’s a nice wad of cash that will now be making its way to fund the programs of Pharrell’s children’s charity One Hand to AnOTHER.  It will also be interesting to see if Arby’s works their new prize possession into an ad campaign – maybe a “Guess how many curly fries will fit into Pharrell’s hat” contest will be next.
