When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered on ABC, it was hot off the heels of one of the most successful films of all time: The Avengers, as well as a slew of other Marvel superhero films.

It was a daring move to take on a series in the same universe as popular Marvel franchise films, but with Joss Whedon, doubt hardly exists because he simply delivers in all aspects of film and television.

The show has received consistently strong ratings, it’s practically a no-brainer on its pending renewal, but fans have expressed concerns over the past few weeks of not enough crossovers between the film characters with the TV show. It’s understandable why they would want to hold off on those major events, because you want to create a show with its own fans, people who watch for the characters throughout the series, and not occasional guest stars or smaller arcs.

Last week, ABC began airing a teaser for the upcoming episodes, gearing up for a storyline including Lady Sif, a character introduced during Thor: The Dark World. As the teaser fades to the logo, you catch a brief glimpse at the logo transitioning to Captain America’s shield; could this mean an additional tie in with Captain America: The Winter Soldier as well? With all these potential plot additions and inclusion to the Marvel films, fans have a lot to look forward to. I know I’m excited for the rest of the season!

Make sure to watch Marvel’s: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tuesday nights at 8p.m. on ABC!
